An education column in English(Title: “How to Prepare for the Essay Tests
in Non-Scheduled College Entrance Exams for 2011”), by Mr. Hwang-wu Yu, the
President of Yu Hwang-wu Language and Essay and also a famous essay lecturer
in Korea, has recently been published on the Yahoo US and Twitter News,
attracting the public’s attention.
The column clearly explains the key to obtaining high scores in the essay
test after a short preparation period, which leads to success in the college
entrance exam for 2011. It also suggests the question types of each college
and detailed study strategies for the essay test, one by one. Moreover, it
advises candidates that the essay tests will maintain a cross-curricular
form and that the CSAT(College Scholastic Ability Test), the basic factor

playing an active role as a member of Korea’s global nongovernmental
diplomatic delegation.
There days, internet users abroad are showing a greater interest in Korean
education system and learning methods. However, since there is limited
information expressed in English on education in Korea, Mr. Yu’s English
columns are highly appreciated as a source of such information.
